Start & Grow — Business Skills Development Programme in the CR
Start & Grow is a practical educational programme designed to help transform ideas into real steps towards entrepreneurship or professional growth in the Czech Republic. The programme combines training, mentoring, and hands-on work on participants' own projects.
Program Start & Grow je realizován v rámci projektu Vítej v Česku organizací yourchance o.p.s. za podpory Evropské banky pro obnovu a rozvoj (EBRD), Evropské unie a programu InvestEU.

Business Skills courses (4 cities)
Duration: 32 hours per city (including 4 hours of Business Czech)
Locations (most likely): Prague, Plzeň, Liberec, Ostrava
Format: classroom-style course delivered in small groups (12–15 participants per city)
Delivery: Czech lecturers
Aim: To strengthen practical business skills and market readiness, supporting women in taking concrete next steps towards entrepreneurship and/or improved labour-market outcomes.
Examples of focus areas (illustrative):

Business Basics course – Prague
Duration: 40 hours (6 × 6 hours + 1 × 4 hours)
Format: intensive classroom-style course (Prague)
Participants: 20

Planned start: September 2026
Aim: To provide a comprehensive foundation in entrepreneurship in the Czech context and structured work on participants' business ideas, priorities and first concrete steps.

1. Business Skills Courses
Practical courses in 4 cities across the Czech Republic: Prague, Plzeň, Liberec, and Ostrava
- 32 hours in each city
- small groups of 12–15 participants
- focus on practical skills: planning, customer relations, pricing, and communication
2. Intensive "Business Basics" Course (Prague)
- 40 hours of training
- group of up to 20 participants
- structured work on business ideas and first practical steps
3. Mentoring for Beginners
- 109 hours in total
- individual support
- guidance with first steps, business structure, and action planning
4. Expert Mentoring for Women Who Already Have a Business
- 34 hours
- focused support on business development, growth, and strategy
5. Pitch Practice Trainings
- 24 hours over 3 months
- preparation for public speaking and presenting business ideas
6. Final Presentation Event
- opportunity to present participants' projects
- networking and real-life presentation experience

Mentoring for business beginners
The goal is to provide participants with individual support based on their specific situation and level of readiness. Mentoring will focus on orientation, first steps towards self-employment, overcoming barriers and structuring a realistic action plan in the Czech context.
Total volume: 109 hours
